Marcus Lemonis, entrepreneur and Lincolnshire-based CEO of Camping World and Good Sam Enterprises, is bringing a new fast-casual restaurant concept, the Simple Greek, to north suburban Highland Park. Slated to open in spring, the restaurant plans to serve authentic Greek flavors for lunch and dinner daily at 478 Central Ave.
“Coming from a Greek family, I am particularly excited to bring this dining experience to the wonderful community of Highland Park and give our customers reasonable prices and convenient access to great food,” Lemonis said. “We are very excited to be growing the Simple Greek into new areas in the United States and look forward to sharing our delicious and healthy food with Illinois residents.”
The Simple Greek has franchises in the Pittsburgh area.
Lemonis’ relationship with the restaurant began when the Pittsburgh chain My Big Fat Greek Gyro was featured on his CNBC reality series, “The Profit,” in which Lemonis turns around struggling businesses and buys an ownership stake in the companies. On the Dec. 9 episode, Lemonis teamed with founders Michael Ference and Kathleen Kamouyerou-Ference.
As a result of the new partnership, the owners rebranded the chain as the Simple Greek, with an open assembly-line model for gyros, salads and sides. The locations also were renovated to refresh the storefronts and develop a new sit down-eating area.
